Saturday 13 December saw the Riverbank Christmas Fayre which was organised by the Riverbank Parent Association. The purpose of the fayre was to raise funds for the school which can be used to purchase equipment, pay for buses and outings which the pupils will have the use of or experience throughout the school year. A huge thank you to the committee and helpers of the Parent Association who put such a lot of work into making the event a special one for everyone….parents, carers, grandparents, relatives, friends and, most importantly, the pupils.

Santa seems to have a clone!

It was good to see such a big turnout with stalls and activities for everyone. The Bouncy Castle was a big favourite, as was the face painting, with the younger children, the Bottle Stall and Tombola, Guess the Weight of the Cake, Lucky Dip were all very popular. In the new hall a number of small businesses had set up stall and were selling biscuits, pickles, confectionery, children’s clothes, jewellery, cosmetics etc. P1s were selling Santa Lollies and Reindeer Food.

Santa was also in attendance… and we were lucky to be able to book him as he is very busy at this time of year…….he was, however, able to bring with him, one of his elves. This elf looked very familiar.

And finally….a fayre wouldn’t be a fayre without food and the cake stall had a lovely array of scrummy delights and some weel kent faces were bashing out teas, coffees, soft drinks and delicious hotdogs.

We hope you all enjoyed yourselves and thanks again to all those who helped make the fayre successful.
