Learning to Paddle!

Riverbank Pupils Experience Kayaking on the River Don

A group of very luck Primary 7 pupils from Riverbank are enjoying a six week session of Kayaking as an extra-curricular activity.

The group is led by a kayaking instructor from Adventure Aberdeen and our very own Mr Nicoll has made himself available to help with the children. The group had their first session down near the mouth of the River Don.

Yesterday’s session was held much closer to home; in Seaton Park and very close to St Machar’s Cathedral. The children had the chance to get out on to the water in their kayaks and do some paddling. The weather was fantastic and they had a great time. You will see from our slideshow below, just what they got up to. It looks like great fun and I wish I could have joined them!

As you can see this was a great learning experience for some of our pupils and by the looks of things they are thoroughly enjoying their experience. We look forward to hearing and seeing how they get on in the weeks to come.
