Mrs Tinto Beats her Personal Best in Berlin!

We are very fortunate to have our very own PE teacher, Mrs Tinto, at Riverbank. Mrs Tinto helps with the school basketball club as well as gymnastics and running clubs.

She is a very talented athlete and very fit, too. She ran in the London Marathon at Easter but was ill on the, pardon the pun, run up to it and was disappointed with her time. During the recent September weekend holiday, she travelled to Berlin to take part in the Berlin Marathon.

Mrs Tinto, this year, has completed five half marathons – Dundee, in which she achieved a personal best of 1hr 42mins, Garioch, Inverness, Stonehaven and Peterhead. She has completed two full marathons. Her Berlin time was 3hrs 51mins and that was a personal best. The weather was very hot – 34C – and 60 000 people ran in the event. Mrs Tinto was 300th in her age group.

After the Marathon and complete with medal and the satisfaction of a personal best!

There are six major marathons and Mrs T has participated in three of them. When she ran the New York marathon she raised £2500 for the Marie Curie Cancer Fund. She raised £1500 for Mental Health Charities when she ran the London Marathon but the Berlin Marathon was just for her!

We’re all very proud to have Mrs Tinto as a member of Team Riverbank. Well done Mrs T!
