Return of Bag 2 School!

Back in December, Riverbank’s Eco Group registered with Bag 2 School. Just as a reminder, Bag 2 School is an organisation that helps to recycle good quality clothing, shoes and textiles. The items are weighed and taken away for recycling. The school receives a payment based on the weight of the materials for recycling. All children will take home a bag and we would be grateful if you could fill it with ‘good quality’ items for re-use.

The bags will be issued soon so please start looking out old clothes etc.

This is a bag from our previous recycling day.

The bags have a list of acceptable items:

We accept the following ‘good quality’ items for RE-USE:

  • Men’s, Ladies’ and Children’s clothing
  • Paired shoes (tied together or elastic band around)
  • Handbags
  • Hats
  • Bags
  • Scarves and ties
  • Jewellery
  • Lingerie
  • Socks
  • Belts
  • Soft toys
  • Household linen
  • Curtains
  • Towels
  • Bedding (bed sheets, pillow cases and duvet covers)

Please do not send in underwear, ripped or soiled clothing, duvets and blankets, or school or work uniforms.

Filled bags should be brought to school on Monday 21st May. As we have no storage facilities, the bags can only be brought on Monday 21st and need to be placed, as last time, in the bike shed. All donations should be in the bike shed by 9.00am.

Again, the group will use the money earned to support an initiative in school and should you wish to find out more about Bag 2 School, then click on the following link: http://www.bag2school.com

We look forward to your support in this excellent recycling project.
