Engineering Activities in Mr Flanagan’s P2 Class
Monday 19th November was the start of an engineering week at Riverbank.
Livewire and Techfest assisted with the delivery of a wide range of activities across the school. The activities included making a garden for Baby Bear, designing a sweet factory, looking at fractioning and designing a chair.
Every child had a logbook in which they recorded what kind of engineering they had participated in. Were they a chemical engineer, a design engineer or a construction engineer. ( I didn’t know there were so many different types of engineer!)
Some real life engineers visited to answer questions about their jobs.
The pupils had a great time in a very practical learning environment.
Mr Flanagan very kindly sent me photographs of his class, see below, participating in a series of materials and construction experiments.
