P3A Learn about Remembrance Day

P3A have started to learn about Remembrance Day and through conversation and discussion they have learned about what the poppy symbolises.

Remembrance Day or Poppy Day, as it is sometimes called, is viewed as one of the cultural celebrations in Scotland and the children have found out about its meaning.

In the picture, on the left, we can see the children creating their poppies to take home or to a memorial monument for Sunday.

Article 29 – Education must develop every child’s personality, talents and abilities to the full. It must encourage the child’s respect for human rights, as well as respect for their parents, their own and other cultures as well as the environment.
