The morning nursery children experienced a rare opportunity of witnessing a partial solar eclipse on Friday morning. In the days leading up to the event they had learned about the moon passing in front of the sun.<\/p>\n

One of the children said: ‘The moon is just going past and saying ‘Excuse me!’ to the sun!’<\/p>\n

On Friday, using colanders as pinhole cameras, the children watched as the moon covered up 95% on the sun, making everything \u00a0go darker for a while. Even with the cloudy skies, we were excited to see what was happening!<\/p>\n

We even saw the birds get confused and think that night had come. What an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime experience!<\/p>\n
