Riverbank’s Lollipop Man was invited into school for a very special assembly on Friday afternoon. It was Jim’s last outing as the School Crossing Patroller, to give him his formal title, before he begins to enjoy his retirement.<\/p>\n

Everyone is assembled to say, ‘Goodbye,’ to Jim.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Riverbank’s Lollipop Man was invited into school for a very special assembly on Friday afternoon. It was Jim’s last outing as the School Crossing Patroller, to give him his formal title, before he begins to enjoy his retirement.<\/p>\n

The whole school was assembled for his presentation and we were all overwhelmed by the presentations he received from each and every class. He accepted banners, cards, photographs and many, many more mementos of the his friends at Riverbank.<\/p>\n

After receiving his very own A4 size Gold Card Award, he was then presented with some gifts which had been purchased with donations from pupils, parents and staff. These were presented by the youngest and the oldest children in school.<\/p>\n

Jim is introduced complete with his Stop! Children Crossing sign. Did you know he has to hand it back to the school on is retirement? We’ll have to keep it safe for his replacement.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Jim became a little emotional when he thanked everyone for his gifts and he spoke to the children and said that they had made his job easy as they were so respectful of him. This was something we were delighted hear. Everyone at Riverbank was happy to hear that we are all showing respect to those who help us out of school as well as in school.<\/p>\n

The afternoon hurried to a close so that Jim could take up his position on Hayton Road for one last time. We all wish Jim a very long and happy retirement, but we will be seeing him again on Monday when he comes back to\u00a0collect some of the gifts that he had to leave behind as he had so many that he couldn’t carry them all at once!!<\/p>\n
