As part of our Wishing Well Project, our two Primary 2 classes decided to have a Beetle Drive as their fund raising activity. The children were to invite in parents and friends and have a Beetle Drive. This exciting event was arranged for the afternoon of Wednesday 20 January and my goodness, what a great event it was.<\/p>\n

The big event began at 1.45pm. and when I went along to the dining hall, I was overwhelmed by the number of adults and children we had playing Beetle Drive. From little ones in buggies to the more mature among us, the age range was very wide and such a lot of fun and excitement was had.<\/p>\n

Don’t tell anyone, but the Primary 2 pupils had been practising, or maybe I should say training, for the big day. The dice were being rattled at 100 miles an hour and body parts for the beetle were being drawn up as quickly as our competitors possibly could in an effort to be the first to shout ‘BEETLE!’ <\/strong>There were six games to be played, in total but there was the customary break for refreshments in the middle. The refreshments included some very special truffles and, my favourite, ladybird biscuits. These were all made by the children in the Primary 2 classes. During the break, you could guess how many sweets there were in the jar and try to guess the birthdays of our soft toys.<\/p>\n

All too soon, the 6th game of Beetle had been won and the sheets were collected in so that Miss MacAulay and Miss Arnott could count the totals and find the winners. The winners will be announced tomorrow! I am assured that we will have photographs for the website just as soon as possible. We will also find out just how much Primary 2 and all their friends and family raised to support our Wishing Well Project.<\/p>\n
