I’m thinking as I’m writing this, that we may have a fair few jealous football fans when you read this. Some weeks ago, our Primary 2s were part of an initiative between the SFA and Tesco Bank to promote football. Our pupils had a great time across at St Machar Academy’s playing fields participating in lots of activities linked to football. We made a slideshow of some super photos taken by one of our parent helpers, on \u00a0the day.<\/p>\n

Following on from this, Riverbank was asked to send some children to Hampden Park – the national football stadium – to follow up on the work which began at St Machar’s playing fields.<\/p>\n

Miss MacAulay and Jennifer Pearce, one of our PSAs, agreed to accompany a group of children to participate at Hampden. The ladies were quite looking forward to the visit, but the downside was that the bus was picking them up at 6.30am this morning!!! We knew the children would make it to school on time but what about our responsible adults???!!<\/p>\n

Anyway, as you’ve probably guessed, everyone made it to Riverbank on time and Riverbank is now participating in the Tesco Bank National Football Festival at Hampden Park, Glasgow. So, some of our wee ones are now playing on the hallowed Hampden turf. I wonder how many of us would have loved an opportunity like that! To be able to say, “I’ve played football at Hampden!” What an experience!<\/p>\n
