Wednesday 29 June saw the Riverbank Nursery Graduation Ceremonies. In a break with tradition, there were two graduation ceremonies, one in the morning for the morning nursery and….yes, you’ve guessed it….one in the afternoon for the afternoon nursery.<\/p>\n

The afternoon graduates have assembled for a pre-graduation photograph.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The parents were entertained with a Nursery PowerPoint which was put together by Mrs Carr’s son. A big thank you to him.<\/p>\n

Our young pupils were rather subdued when they entered the hall but the excitement began to show after they had received their graduation certificate from Mrs Ironside.<\/p>\n

The children all wore a graduation sash as they entered the hall, where I can imagine there were a few tearful parenst!!! They were so smart and cute, too! After this reporter had said a few introductory words, the graduation began. Each child was called out, one at a time, and our nursery staff had given me a pen portrait for each one which was read out as they climbed the ramp on to the stage. Once there, they received that all important Graduation Certificate, a shake of the hand with Mrs Ironside and then there was a chance for a photo shoot for mums, dads and carers.<\/p>\n

Our pupils were so well-behaved while we ran through their classmates and then the presentation of certificates to the nursery staff before it was back to the nursery for some ‘light refreshments’ which included the cake! Graduation, in the nursery, wouldn’t be Graduation without cake! After collectiing something to eat and drink there was then the chance to mingle with pupils, parents and staff. What a lovely occasion it was and I was so fortunate to be able to experience the occasion twice.<\/p>\n

I am so looking forward to seeing these yougsters in Primary 1 and they are all such a credit to their families! What a lovely day!<\/p>\n
