Miss Rowley’s Primary 7 class have been finding out about Global Goals.<\/p>\n

\"\"In 2015, world leaders agreed to 17\u00a0goals<\/em>\u00a0for a better world by 2030. These\u00a0goals<\/em>\u00a0have the power to end poverty, fight inequality and stop climate change. Guided by the\u00a0goals<\/em>, it is now up to all of us, governments, businesses, civil society and the general public to work together to build a better future for everyone.<\/p>\n

P7R has been concentrating on Global Goal 13 which is all about the climate and recently they were invited to take part in a design a garden competition and this garden had to concentrate on Global Goal 13 and climate change. The winning design was to be constructed at Hazlehead Park. With this information, the class set off on a fact finding visit to Hazlehead Park. They would meet there with the park ranger and find out about the environment and the location of the flower bed. The children also took the opportunity of visiting some of the visitor attractions at the park.<\/p>\n

On returning to school the class carried out some report writing and I attach a couple of reports which have been written by the pupils.<\/p>\n

Hazlehead Park Visit – Report<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

On Friday 16th of February 2018, the whole of P7R went for a visit to Hazlehead Park. The ranger of the park, called Alan, showed us around the Pets’ Corner and the space where we are placing the winner’s garden.<\/span><\/p>\n

P7R went to Hazlehead Park because the whole class entered a garden competition. We also went to go and see all of the animals. There were lots of animals and they were all so cute! After visiting the animals we went to go and see where the garden will be placed. Then we went to play in the park.<\/span><\/p>\n

The best part of the visit was when Alan told us about the competition and we were allowed to plan our gardens when we got back to the class. I learned that one python could swallow you whole.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hazlehead Park Visit!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Last week, on Friday 16th of February Primary 7R went to visit Hazlehead Park. While we were there we went to Pet’s Corner, the park and we met with the park ranger, Alan.<\/span><\/p>\n

We went to Hazlehead as, at Riverbank, we are trying to find out more about climate change so we can help battle against it. We had a long talk with the park ranger, Alan, about the climate change problem. We, then, entered a competition with lots of other schools to build a climate change garden.Whoever wins will have their garden built in Hazlehead Park.<\/span><\/p>\n

Personally, I would say that the best part of the trip, by far, would have been visiting Pets’ Corner. I also learned a lot about animals’ habitats and how to battle climate change.<\/span><\/p>\n
