Miss Gardner, Miss Lynn and the Primary 7 pupils are to be commended for all the hard work which went into their performance of Aladdin Trouble. The beautiful backdrops were drawn and painted by the staff and pupils and they really added to the atmosphere of the panto. Beautiful costumes had been rustled up, so a big thank you to the support we got from parents and carers with this.<\/p>\n
This writer didn’t get to see much of the panto as she was busy behind the scenes but the children loved every minute of their performances, of which there were three. Monday morning was for some classes only, Tuesday morning was for parents, carers, friends, relatives\u00a0and some more classes and finally on Wednesday evening for parents etc. This was a huge undertaking for all involved. This panto was like a good cheese, or maybe a good wine…..it improved as it matured.<\/p>\n

There were the usual crises….backdrops falling off their stands, cues missed and that includes the silly billy on the sound..oops that’s me! But like all good thespians, they soldiered on ignoring the drilling outside at one performance, the endless ringtone which they thought was me playing music when I shouldn’t have, the little ones running around during the performances. It was all character building! Guys, you were the bees knees!<\/p>\n
Special mention to those characters who sang solos….it takes a great deal of courage to stand in front of an audience and talk, let alone sing. Well done!<\/p>\n
The children performed to appreciative audiences on all three days and they were cheered and clapped off the stage at the Wednesday night performance. It really was a most enjoyable evening and, once again, very well done to all those involved!!!!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"

<\/a>New lamps for old was the cry of the evil Abenezer as he tried to take over the Universe, only to be halted in his tracks by a would be comic called Aladdin, an air guitar playing genie, a talking in rhyme all the time evil sidekick, a royal princess, a Sultan with a collection of marbles which he’d lost and many more wonderful characters all appeared in this version of Aladdin presented and performed by Riverbank’s Primary 7 pupils.<\/p>\n
