School Meals Menus

Help Your Child to Choose their Lunch

Lunchtimes in the dining room at Riverbank are a hive of activity. By the time our Primary 1 pupils start going for lunch Mealsand we include the children who have a packed lunch, then our kitchen staff, PSAs, teaching staff and management team will be dealing with approximately 200 children. Many of our younger children find it difficult to choose what they want to eat. This can cause huge queues to build up at the servery and some of the children can become upset. To try to help everyone, I have attached a link to Aberdeen City Council’s website where the school meals menus can be seen. Perhaps, you could discuss with your child, the night before, what they would like for school lunch the next day. This would help in speeding up the flow of children at lunch and easing stress on them too.

The menus change twice a year and work on a 4 week cycle. A calendar is included on the web page to help you work out which menu is available and when. We hope this is helpful.
