Riverbank pupils helped raise funds for the Archie in Africa Appeal this afternoon by donating £1 to enjoy, with their schoolmates a showing of the Lion King. The film was shown in our hall with the new film screen and sound system. For 20p, the children could buy a cup of popcorn and they could bring some water or fruit juice into the ‘Riverbank Cinema’ to enjoy the film together with their school friends.

Everyone seemed to enjoy the shared experience and there were a few tears when

We had a very large screen in rather a dark hall.

Simba’s dad died. There were numerous trips to the toilet and some communal singing at some of the ‘weel kent’ tunes. The money was still being counted at the end of the afternoon and we hope to give you an up-date, before we go off on holidays, about how much money we raised.

Thank you for all the donations.
