Riverbank Hosts Fantastic Open Morning

Riverbank logo

Riverbank was a hive of activity this morning as many parents and carers attended our first Open Event of the 2015-16 school session. This was a very well attended Open Morning.

The theme of the morning was Meet the Teacher and parents and carers were invited to join us at Riverbank and meet their child’s teacher and see what is going on in the classroom.

Our colleagues from the EAL Service had arranged a very interesting treasure hunt in which you could track down the celebrity posters and say which languages the celebrities spoke. They also had a trail of everyday words which we have borrowed from other languages. Our pupils had great fun trying out these treasure hunts with their parents, grandparents and friends.

There was the customary cup of tea and biscuits which was enhanced by a game of Bingo. This was organised and supported by our Parent Council with the Bingo being called by our very own Headteacher, Mrs Ironside; is there no end to her talents!

Everyone, adults and children alike, were busy enjoying the many lessons and activities which were on displayRights-respecting-school-logo throughout the school.

It was great to see so many parents/caters supporting their children and the school by attending the Open Morning. Thank you for your support and we hope to see some of you, again, tomorrow for the Sharing Assembly and certainly hope to see you at the next Open Event.
