Riverbank’s Christmas Concert

riverbank-christmas-concertThe pupils and staff at Riverbank School would like to thank everyone who supported the Riverbank Christmas Concert. The three performances were well-supported by parents, carers, friends and families and you all provided a terrific audience for your children to perform for.

Thanks to everyone for the effort in providing the children with hats, t-shirts of odd colours and all the other accessories that were requested for the children to wear and carry on the days!

The Christmas gifts which were on sale were, virtually, sold out and the hot chocolate packages, complete with marshmallows, were delicious! The Christmas decorations and labels all proved to be very popular. The Christmas Hamper winners were drawn this afternoon and the lucky winners have been informed. We hope that the winners enjoy the contents of the hampers.

A special thank you to all the staff and children for their performances at the concert. I think you’ll agree there was a great variety of songs, from carols to novelty songs to pop tunes. We need to give an extra special mention to P6-7C, Miss Rowley’s class, for putting together the concert. The whole idea, from start to finish, and including suggestions for songs and the introductions between songs came from the pupils of P6-7C. Collecting classes and having them ready to go on stage to moving benches and even running the music, they did it all.

As those of you who attended the Tuesday morning performance will be aware, the concert was recorded by SHMU. The children will have a chance to view the DVD on Thursday morning and in the New Year we hope to have supplies of this year’s DVD on sale.

Once again, thank you all, very much, for your support and we would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and hope that 2017 will be a great one for us all!

I have inserted a slideshow of some of the moments of the Christmas Concert. I am sure you will appreciate seeing some of the children again, however, it would take too long to caption all the photographs, so sit back and enjoy just looking!
