My Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch!

On the last Friday of term, Mrs Smith’s class invited in their parents, carers and grandparents to share their work for the term with them.

As you will recall from a previous post, the children in the class have been working on the book called The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch. They have made a beautiful wall display, they have learned about speech bubbles and they have made lighthouses which light up as they also carried out some work on circuitry. The boys also carried out some work on what they might put in sandwiches to deter seagulls from eating them. Nobody, it seems, likes mustard!

I popped up to see their open morning and enjoyed seeing their lighthouses all lit up and I also enjoyed listening to them singing their sea shanty. It was great fun. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to stay for the ‘refreshments’ and I was disappointed to miss out on the snacks. However, I went back to my office at lunchtime and was surprised to find a gingham napkin covering a plate on my desk! I wondered what it was ….the boys had left me my very own lighthouse keeper’s lunch. Thank you boys!
