Jack & the Beanstalk is Magical Panto Fun @ Riverbank

M&M Productions served up a fantastic production of Jack and the Beanstalk for the pupils of Riverbank. The afternoon performance provided many opportunities for plenty cheering and booing as well as singing and clapping and teacher participation. By the deafening noise of audience participation, it was clear to see how much the pupils and adults enjoyed the performance.

The story centred around Jack and his mother not having enough money to pay their rent to Squire Bogey, pronounced bogey by Jack, his mum and girlfriend Jill but Bojay by the squire himself. I wonder why?

Jack sold Buttercup the cow to an old lady for some magic beans and overnight a spectacular beanstalk grew. Jack and Jill climbed the beanstalk to visit Nursery Rhyme Land so that they could find a golden egg to help pay their rent. At the top of the beanstalk, they met many nursery rhyme characters including Humpty Dumpty and, of course, the scary giant. Perhaps the weirdest character we met was the giant’s baby. The baby was huge!!!!

Needless to say, the story had a happy ending, the actors were roundly applauded and there was even a question and answer session with the cast at the end of the show.

I hope it’s not too long before M&Ms are back visiting us at Riverbank, again!
