New Ideas for Raising Attainment in Numeracy

We’re always looking out for new ideas to help raise attainment across the curriculum and for the new academic session we have come up with Primary 4 Maths Bags.

Our two Primary 4 classes for next session will be the first to try out our new maths bags. There will be a set of approximately 30 bags and each one will contain a different task or game. Each bag will contain all the items needed to play the game or work out the answers. These items may include a whiteboard, dry marker pen, dice, counters etc. The activities can be used at home with a parent or carer and will cover topics such as place value, multiplication tables and challenge or problem solving cards. In the new session, the pupils in Primary 4 will be given the opportunity to work with the bags in school before taking them home as mathematics homework.

Having seen the great range of activities in the bags, then I’m sure the children will enjoy learning more about maths in this fun filled way.
